CONCACAF Champions Cup: Gabriel Pec fires Galaxy into quarters

Mandatory Credit: William Liang-Imagn Images Gabriel Pec added two goals Thursday night to his hat trick in the first leg last week as the Los Angeles Galaxy trounced Mount Pleasant 3-0 in Kingston, Jamaica, to complete a 6-0 aggregate victory in the CONCACAF Champions Cup's round of 16.
The Galaxy advance to oppose Mexico's Toluca in the quarterfinals next month.
Joao Klauss opened the scoring on Thursday off an 18th-minute corner kick that bounced in the middle off the box. Klauss headed it in from 6 yards out.
Pec broke in along down the right side and rolled a left-footed shot inside the far post in the 61st minute.
In the 87th minute, Los Angeles' Harbor Miller was free on the left side for a shot that was saved. The rebound landed at the edge of the 6-yard box, where Pec fired it into the vacated net.
