Mandatory Credit: Jeff Swinger-Imagn Images Travis Smyth once again will fill in for Paul Casey this week at LIV Golf Andalucia, Crushers GC announced over social media on Tuesday morning.
With Casey sidelined by a wrist injury, Smyth carded at 7-under-par 273 to finish in a four-way tie for eighth place last weekend at LIV Golf Korea.
The 31-year-old Australian's contributions helped Crushers GC defend their LIV Korea team title.
"It's just been a whirlwind of a week. I felt extremely nervous, just like Charles (Howell III) was saying. He still feels it; imagine how I felt," Smyth said on Sunday of his Crushers teammate. "I didn't want to be the fill-in guy that disappoints the team and stops them from standing on the podium. I'm over the moon. I'm super proud of myself, super proud of these guys, and couldn't have asked for a better first week."
