Mandatory Credit: Sergei Belski-Imagn Images Following a career-best 40 points this season, defenseman Brandt Clarke declined free agency and re-signed with the Los Angeles Kings on Friday for $37 million over five seasons.
Clarke, 23, surpassed his previous career-high point total of 33 set in 2024-25, ranking second on the Kings in assists (32) and fourth in points in 2025-26.
In his fourth season, all with Los Angeles, Clarke (19:48) trailed only Drew Doughty and Mikey Anderson in average minutes per game among Kings defensemen and ranked third in the NHL with 185 blocked shots. He added one point in four Stanley Cup playoff games.
Clarke has 81 points (15 goals, 66 assists) in 185 regular-season games since the Kings selected him No. 8 overall in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft. In 10 playoff games, he has posted three points (two goals, one assist).
