D Mitja Ilenic returns to NYCFC from loan

New York City FC defender Mitja Ilenic returned to the club Friday from his loan to Poland's Rakow Czestochowa.

The 21-year-old Slovenia international made six appearances during the loan spell that began in January.

"We are excited to welcome Mitja back," NYCFC sporting director Todd Dunivant said. "The additional experience gained during his loan will be valuable, in addition to the depth he provides to our backline. We look forward to having Mitja back with the club."

Ilenic has tallied three goals and five assists in 75 matches (45 starts) across all competitions since joining New York City in 2023.
