The 27-year-old was acquired on Wednesday on a full transfer from Scottish side St. Mirren FC.
"Toyosi is a dynamic goal scorer who adds more physicality and verticality to our attack," Dynamo president of soccer Pat Onstad said. "He will provide valuable depth at the forward position, especially as we enter the busiest stretch of our season. We welcome Toyosi to Houston and look forward to his contributions on and off the field."
Olusanya tallied 14 goals and three assists in 67 matches (40 starts) with St. Mirren.
Since making his professional debut in 2016, he has spent time with English clubs Middlesbrough, Billericay Town, Cheshunt, Gosport Borough, Fleet Town, Walton Casuals and others.
