Mandatory Credit: Eric Hartline-Imagn Images The Philadelphia Eagles ruled out defensive tackle Jalen Carter for Thursday night's Week 6 game against the New York Giants, sidelining the third-year linchpin with a heel injury after he was a late addition to the final injury report.
Carter is on the Eagles' inactive list after he was seen on the field pregame at MetLife Stadium, but did not go through a warmup of any kind. With Carter unavailable, Philadelphia will lean on a rotation of Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Za'Darius Smith, Byron Young, rookie Ty Robinson and practice-squad elevation Gabe Hall.
Left guard Landon Dickerson (ankle) and tight end Grant Calcaterra (oblique) were also inactive after being ruled out on Wednesday.
Carter, 24, had been active for each game this season before Thursday, although he was ejected for spitting from the season opener vs. Dallas before playing a snap. He was limited in Wednesday's estimated walkthrough, his first appearance on the injury report this week.
He has 10 tackles, a tackle for loss and six quarterback hits on the year. In three seasons with the Eagles, Carter has notched 85 tackles, 21 tackles for loss and 10.5 sacks.
