There Was An Exciting AHL Game 7 That You Almost Certainly Didn't Watch
Last night was Game 7 of the Atlantic Division Finals between the AHL’s Hershey Bears and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, but why would you know that? There was a lot of TV to watch on a Sunday. The highlights are all that’s necessary, anyway.
In the second period, Hershey’s Carter Camper left Penguins goalie Casey DeSmith in a heap on his way to a very slick backhand goal for a 2-1 Bears lead. The multiple angles let you savor every move Carter makes:
The Bears’ lead didn’t stick, so the game needed overtime to determine a winner. Hershey’s Travis Boyd was responsible for the 3-2 win as Bears radio announcer Scott Stuccio lost it:
The Bears are going to the Eastern Conference Finals, and despondent Capitals fans can take minor solace from their AHL affiliate defeating Pittsburgh’s in the playoffs. That is, if they’ve stopped crying yet.
