Failure To Pay Office Pool Winnings Leads To Sad, Overwrought Email

This overwrought email, sent by the winner of a March Madness office pool to the irresponsible pool administrator who was dragging his or her feet with payouts, comes to us from a tipster who tells us that he dusts it off every March for a good chuckle. We don't blame him.

If there's one lesson to be gleaned from this, it's that office pools are very serious business. They can jeapordize golfing relationships, man.

I really don't know what the issue is with the paying me my winnings from the pool.

I dare guess you are the last administrator of an NCAA pool in the state of [redacted] not to pay.

It was funny at first but now it's really insulting to me at this point and bothering me, I don't understand what the big deal is go to the atm take out 70.00 and pay me. (ITS NOT THE MONEY ITS BEYOND THAT at this POINT its about the principle I gave you 20.00 day off entry and I have to chase you to get the payout and spoke about this like 15 times already we both have BIGGER FISH TO FRY!)

Its been 2 weeks+ since no one else could win the pool and its been 9 days since the tourney ended!!! ([redacted] got angry/aggravated at [redacted] when it took him a couple of days to pay so I am not alone in this feeling, the day after or a couple days after is more than enough time to settle up!)

I really am uncomfortable with this situation and don't know why this has had to gone from funny, to post pone, to frustrating, to being upset (which at this point 9 days after the fact I am!). In all my dealings in my entire life I can never remember an issue like this dragging on for this long PERIOD with anyone, have you not been by a bank or could stop by one for the past two weeks!?

If you run a pool than you should have the cash and pay the day after… you should be proactive and happy about it! The fact that I am chasing you is ridiculous and gotten to the point where I am so frustrated I am writing this email. Also I don't appreciate the link to the [redacted] to me asking about collecting my pool money (which again why do I even have to ask in the first place!!). I work extremely hard and I am extremely dedicated and I have been with the company for 5+yrs. If it wasn't for [redacted] and I originally on [redacted] we probably don't have a company any more. I am doing all I can to move [redacted] I am putting my life, blood, sweat and tears in making [redacted] happen, it takes time. Please never combine the paying of the pool and the [redacted] again its not right and its hurtful and insulting to me and there is no relationship at all between the two thing! I have had 3 months to sell [redacted] and I am extremely proud of what I have accomplished these last 3 months!

I don't want to ever talk about this again, please hand me a check or the cash this week andwe can never speak about this again…it really embarrassing at this point (I would at least hope so!!!)

I don't want to talk about it anymore and I don't want this to affect our friendship and golfing relationship, [redacted] I truly like you and admire what you bring both in and out of the office; but this is getting to the point where it's going to affect our interaction and I really don't want that to happen! Close the chapter of 2011 NCAA!

I am truly sorry you ever let this get to the point where I am so aggravated and upset that I had to write this email but this is really bothering me and I need to say what I have said in order to hopefully end this ridiculousness and get closure without affecting our relationship. I am certain you understand. Also at this point I am not going to enter any [redacted] pools any more I value my job, my relationships with you/others, and career and something stupid like this just interferes with my goals of a prosperous career and company.
