Falcons, BetBoom sneak into FISSURE Universe: Episode 4 playoffs

Team Falcons overtook BOOM Esports 2-1, and BetBoom Team rallied past Aurora Gaming 2-1. On a day featuring three matches of teams with 2-2 records, Gaimin Gladiators advanced with a 2-0 victory over 1win Team.
The $500,000 Dota 2 tournament began with a group stage that used a modified Swiss system for 16 teams. All matches were best-of-three. The top eight teams advanced to the playoffs, and the remaining teams were eliminated.
The playoffs, which run Thursday through Sunday, will use a double-elimination bracket. All matches are best-of-three until the grand final, which is best-of-five. The winning team will earn $250,000.
On Wednesday, BOOM Esports opened with a 44-minute win on green before Team Falcons claimed the next two maps, both on red, in 35 minutes and 48 minutes.
Russia's Stanislav "Malr1ne" Potorak compiled an average 7.0/2.7/9.3 kill-death-assist ratio for Team Falcons. The Philippines' Armel "Armel" Tabios finished at 6.0/3.0/8.0 for BOOM Esports.
After Aurora Gaming captured the first map in 35 minutes on red, BetBoom Team responded with two wins on red, in 35 minutes and 56 minutes.
Russia's Danil "gpk" Skutin paced BetBoom Team with a 10.0/2.3/10.3 K-D-A ratio. Russia's Egor "Nightfall" Grigorenko wound up at 5.0/2.7/6.3 for Aurora Gaming.
Gaimin Gladiators cruised past 1win Team in 26 minutes on red before sealing the match with a marathon 82-minute victory on green.
The United States' Quinn "Quinn" Callahan amassed a 12.0/3.0/17.5 K-D-A ratio for Gaimin Gladiators. Nikita "Munkushi-" Chepurnykh ended up at 7.0/4.5/9.5 for all-Russian 1win Team.
The playoffs start Thursday with the upper-bracket quarterfinals:
