Florida Gulf Coast Somehow Wins Game Despite Finishing With Three Players
Screencap via [object Object] Florida Gulf Coast University, aka Dunk City, defeated the Providence Storm this afternoon down in the Bahamas. As you’ll notice the box score below, FGCU picked up the 92-89 comeback win despite five of their eight players fouling out. The Eagles finished the game with just three players, coming into the last 1:36 with four, then losing another player 56 seconds later. They went with a deeply foreboding 1-2 zone to close the game out.
Here is video of the game, starting with the fourth foulout that put them down a man.
The Eagles have a roster of 12 players, but one had to stay home with injuries, and another had to sit out because of NCAA transfer rules. Still, they would have had ten players, and therefore could have finished with a full squad, but two players were left back in Florida because of a “failure to live up to team expectations.”
