Mandatory Credit: Kamil Krzaczynski-Imagn Images Milan Momcilovic, who led the nation in 3-point shooting while playing for Iowa State last season, transferred to Kentucky on Monday.
The 6-foot-8 Wisconsin native filed paperwork to enter the NBA draft, but withdrew his name ahead of the deadline last week and announced his intention to transfer.
Considered one of the best, if not the best, prospect in the transfer portal, Momcilovic also considered Louisville, St. John's and Arizona before settling on Kentucky, according to multiple media reports.
Momcilovic sank a national-best 136 3-pointers in the 2025-26 season, and his 48.7% success rate from long range also topped the country. He exited Iowa State level with Naz Mitrou-Long (2012-17) for second place in program history in career 3-pointers made with 260, 10 fewer than Jake Sullivan compiled from 2000-04.
Momcilovic also shined last month at the NBA Scouting Combine in Chicago, hitting almost 69% of his shots in the four shooting drills.
In 37 games, all starts, for the Cyclones last season, he averaged 16.9 points and 3.1 rebounds. He appeared in 102 games (101) for Iowa State over three seasons, averaging 13.2 points and 3.2 rebounds while making 42.8% of his 3-point tries.
He joins a Kentucky team that wasn't projected to make the preseason Top 25 prior to his arrival, the Lexington (Ky.) Herald-Leader reported.
The Wildcats finished 22-14 last season, losing to Momcilovic and Iowa State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.
