Four-star F Chase Foster picks Pitt over Villanova, Oklahoma
Pitt head coach Jeff Capel. Four-star power forward Chase Foster announced his commitment to Pitt coach Jeff Capel's program on Wednesday.
The standout from Florida's IMG Academy chose the Panthers over Villanova, Oklahoma and Texas A&M.
The 6-foot-8 Foster is ranked No. 33 nationally, No. 6 in Florida and No. 7 at his position in the Class of 2026 by 247 Sports.
"Knowing Capel dealt with a lot of high-level guys like Blake Griffin, Brandon Ingram, Marvin Bagley, and Justise Winslow, I believe I can be one of those guys," Foster told 247Sports. "He sees me as a really versatile guy who can come in and mix up the offense. He sees me as a guy who can play both the post and on the perimeter."
Foster has a strong connection with former Pitt star Bub Carrington, a fellow Baltimore-area native. Carrington is entering his second season with the Washington Wizards, who drafted him 14th overall in 2024.
"Bub being from the same area as me gives me a little bit of motivation," Foster said. "Knowing how his story was, I think I can use it as motivation."
Foster announced his recruiting decision live on the CBS Sports college basketball channel.
