Mandatory Credit: Lon Horwedel-Imagn Images Isaiah Stewart poured in a career-high 31 points and the host Detroit Pistons pulled away from the Chicago Bulls to win 108-93 on Wednesday.
Stewart made 14 of 17 field-goal attempts while easily surpassing his previous high of 26 points. Duncan Robinson had 12 points, while Javonte Green, Ron Holland and Ausar Thompson contributed 11 apiece. Daniss Jenkins dished out 15 assists in Detroit's third straight win.
Ayo Dosunmu led the Bulls with 24 points. Nikola Vucevic had 20 points with 16 rebounds and Matas Buzelis also scored 20 for Chicago.
Stewart had 17 points in the first half, helping the Pistons emerge with a 52-50 halftime lead. Robinson had nine points, while Dosunmu led the Bulls with 15 points. Neither side led by more than eight points during the half.
Chicago opened the second half with a 14-5 run. Buzelis and Vucevic capped the outburst with 3-pointers. Stewart kept the Pistons close with a pair of 3-pointers.
Dosunmu's 3-pointer with 3:27 left in the quarter gave Chicago a 72-65 lead. The Pistons then finished the quarter on an 11-5 run to pull within a point. Caris LeVert scored his first five points of the game during that span.
The Pistons then scored the first seven points of the fourth quarter -- five by Holland -- to take an 83-77 lead. Stewart had a pair of dunks in a 45-second span midway through the quarter to give Detroit a 92-85 advantage.
Chaz Lanier's 3-pointer stretched the lead to double digits and Stewart moved past the 30-point mark on a turnaround shot with 2:11 remaining. That made it 101-87 and the Bulls had no more answers.
Pistons star guard Cade Cunningham sat out due to a right wrist contusion, and fellow starters Jalen Duren (ankle) and Tobias Harris (hip) also missed the contest. Josh Giddey (hamstring) and Coby White (calf) were among the players who didn't suit up for the Bulls.
