Jaelen Strong’s First NFL Reception A Hail Mary Touchdown
What better way to get your first career catch than on a 42-yard Hail Mary touchdown with no time left on the clock?
That’s precisely the situation Jaelen Strong, a rookie wide receiver for the Texans, found himself in during tonight’s game against the Colts. After a booming Pat McAfee punt, the Texans had a minute-and-a-half to go 95 yards. Their drive stalled out with four seconds remaining, and with a 60-yard field goal attempt not looking too appetizing, Brian Hoyer hoisted the ball into the end zone towards his five receivers. Somehow not one of the eight Colts defenders sufficiently covered Strong, and the ball was his.
Strong is no stranger to Hail Marys. He hauled one in last season while at Arizona State to beat USC.
