Mandatory Credit: John Jones-Imagn Images Jasson Dominguez hit a game-ending homer with one out in the ninth inning as the host New York Yankees rallied for a 4-3 victory over the Texas Rangers after struggling against Jacob deGrom for the first seven innings on Wednesday.
Held to two runs and three hits by deGrom, the Yankees earned their 10th win in 13 games after tying the game in the eighth on Aaron Judge's RBI single off Luke Jackson.
Dominguez capped the comeback by hitting a 2-0 pitch from Jackson (0-4) into the second deck in right field. After delivering his sixth homer of the year and first career walk-off blast, Dominguez was mobbed at home plate by his teammates.
He was doused with a Gatorade shower by Judge and Anthony Volpe while conducting his postgame on-field interview.
The Yankees moved a season-high 10 games over .500.
New York reliever Yerry De los Santos escaped a bases-loaded jam in the top of the eighth and Luke Weaver (1-1) finished the top of the ninth when Sam Haggerty was thrown out trying to steal second following a lengthy replay review.
Before clinching their fifth straight series win, the Yankees trailed 3-1 at the seventh-inning stretch. In the top of the seventh, Jake Burger snapped a 1-1 tie with his second homer of the night, and Haggerty also connected for a solo shot.
Cody Bellinger homered in the bottom of the seventh to get the Yankees within 3-2.
deGrom consistently hit the upper 90s with his fastball and got nine strikeouts while issuing a walk.
It was the third time deGrom completed at least seven innings since returning from a second Tommy John surgery in September. He threw 103 pitches, his highest total since throwing 101 for the New York Mets on Sept. 18, 2022, and he was in line for his fifth straight win before the late collapse.
Burger had his sixth career multi-homer game, but the Rangers lost for the fourth time in five games since a six-game winning streak.
New York starter Ryan Yarbrough allowed one run on three hits in five innings. He struck out eight and walked none.
