Like Kirby Smart and SEC commissioner Greg Sankey before him, Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith criticized Michigan for holding their first week of spring practices at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Fla., instead of on campus. Smith also threw in a dig at Michigan’s competitiveness:

When the best burn you can come up with is the strange assertion that a team that finished 10-3 and 12th in the final AP poll is “jump starting” their program, and your history of overseeing an athletic department that was roiled by a dumb tattoo scandal that resulted in vacating a season, a bowl ban, and a successful coach resigning, is thrown back in your face, you’ve lost.
