Joel Embiid: I'm Not Fat And I Do Care
Over the weekend, a report came out claiming Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid was fat and unmotivated while he recovered from a foot injury. Embiid disputed those claims last night.
CSN Philly asked Embiid if he weighed near 300 pounds. The money quote:
"I don't weigh that," Embiid said in passing at a D.C. hotel Sunday night with the Sixers in town to face the Wizards for a Martin Luther King Day matinee.
A team source backed him up, stating that 275 pounds has been the maximum weight for the 7-footer whom the Sixers selected with the third overall pick in last year's draft.
As for the claims that Embiid stopped caring about his workouts, Embiid was reportedly the first one at practice today. The 76ers made sure to let everyone know with a video of him shooting.
This is legitimately the most interesting story about the 76ers this season.
