Joey Harrington Hit While On A Bicycle In Portland
Former Lions and Dolphins quarterback Joey Harrington has now reached the nadir of his Portland days. He was hit from behind while biking.
Wrote The Oregonian, "The accident occurred at 8:24 p.m. Sunday near Southeast Foster and 88th Avenue." Harrington was taken to the hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.
But, this being Portland, and all, there are major bike-related implications that the Harrington-unfriendly mainstream sports media might ignore. BikePortland.org says that Southeast Foster "has no bike lanes at this location and the street is notorious for traffic crashes." Uh-oh! Plus, the driver who hit Harrington was cited for following too close. Perhaps he will lose his license and before too long will be on a bike as well. Eventually, all will bike freely, among former NFL quarterbacks.
