Kansas, Villanova set home-and-home series
Kansas Jayhawks head coach Bill Self yells out during the Sunflower Showdown game inside Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kansas, on Saturday, March 7, 2026. Kansas and Villanova men's basketball teams have scheduled a home-and-home series beginning with the 2026-27 season, the schools announced Wednesday.
The series will open at Allen Fieldhouse in Lawrence, Kan., on Nov. 27, 2026. The teams will play at Villanova in November 2027.
"We've had a lot of great games against Villanova, including some on the biggest stage," Kansas head coach Bill Self said. "These games will be great to prepare our guys for Big 12 play, and they will be exciting for our fans."
The teams have met 10 times, with each winning five games.
"This is a great opportunity for two elite programs to start a series and play home and home," Villanova head coach Kevin Willard said.
Kansas and Villanova have seven titles between them. They have faced off four times in the NCAA Tournament, including in two Final Fours (2018, 2022).
Kansas won the title in 2022, Villanova in 2018.
