Lee will be replaced in the lineup for at least the next two events -- including this week's tournament in South Korea -- by Doyeob Mun, the current KPGA Tour Genesis points leader.
"We are excited for Doyeob to join the KGC family," Korean GC posted Monday on X, adding that Mun will officially be introduced at a team press conference on Tuesday.
Mun, 34, competes on both the KPGA Tour and Asian Tour.
LIV Golf Korea begins Thursday at Asiad Country Club in Busan.
The other members of Korean GC are captain Byeong Hun An, Younghan Song and Minkyu Kim. The teams currently ranks last out of 13 teams in LIV Golf.
Lee, 35, won the 2015 Greenbrier Classic on the PGA Tour and won the LIV Golf Tucson event in 2023 in just his second tournament after joining the tour. His best finish in seven LIV Golf events this season was a T32 at Adelaide in February.
