Mandatory Credit: Mitch Stringer-Imagn Images Kyle Bradish held the New York Yankees to one hit over six innings and Adley Rutschman belted a two-run home run and drove in three total runs as the Baltimore Orioles won the rubber match 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
The Yankees were held without a hit until Jazz Chisholm Jr.'s fifth-inning, one-out double. Bradish (2-5) finished with seven strikeouts and three walks, throwing 100 pitches.
Keegan Akin, Dietrich Enns and Yennier Cano each pitched an inning of hitless relief.
Blaze Alexander went 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, and Coby Mayo and Pete Alonso both had two hits and an RBI.
New York starter Max Fried worked three innings before leaving with left elbow soreness. The team announced he will be evaluated and undergo imaging Thursday in New York.
Fried (4-3), who threw 61 pitches, gave up three runs on five hits and one walk with a pair of strikeouts. The Yankees trailed 3-0 at the time of his departure.
Yankees shortstop Anthony Volpe made his major league season debut, going 0-for-3 at the plate and committing an eighth-inning error in the field.
Trent Grisham and Spencer Jones each drew two of the five walks issued to the Yankees.
The Orioles have won three of their last four games, while the Yankees have lost five of their last six.
The Orioles began Wednesday's scoring on Mayo's two-out, third-inning double. They increased the lead on Rutschman's sacrifice fly in the third inning followed by Alonso's RBI single.
After Chisholm's double in the fifth, he advanced to third base on a wild pitch. But Bradish struck out two batters sandwiched around a walk to douse the threat.
In the bottom of the fifth, Rutschman homered off Paul Blackburn, who allowed three runs in two innings after replacing Fried. It was Rutschman's second homer this month and his sixth this season.
Alexander singled in two runs in the sixth for a 7-0 lead.
The game's starting time was moved up 5 1/2 hours to the early afternoon because of weather-related concerns in the evening.
