Los Angeles FC acquired midfielder Sergio Vasquez from Ecuador's Orense SC on a permanent transfer Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Ecuador native is signed through the 2029-30 season with a club option through 2030-31.

Vasquez will occupy an international roster slot and will join the LAFC lineup as a U22 Initiative player.

"Sergio is a talented young midfielder whose intensity, versatility, and quality on the ball align well with how we want to play," LAFC president of soccer operations John Thorrington said. "He has built a strong foundation in Ecuador, and we believe our environment will allow him to continue developing while contributing to our pursuit of trophies."

Vasquez recorded five goals and seven assists in 91 appearances (76 starts) with Orense since making his pro debut there in 2023. He had four goals and three assists in 26 starts in 2026.
