Mariners trade for Giants veteran infielder Buddy Kennedy

Mandatory Credit: Michael McLoone-Imagn Images The Seattle Mariners acquired veteran infielder Buddy Kennedy from the San Francisco Giants for cash considerations on Sunday.
Kennedy, 27, last played on June 10, going 0-for-1 in an 11-10 home win over the Washington Nationals.
He was 0-for-7 in seven games this season, his first with San Francisco. He has entered games at third base, second base, designated hitter and pitcher.
Kennedy hit .321 with eight home runs and 33 RBIs in 48 games for Triple-A Sacramento this year.
For his major league career, Kennedy is batting .171 (28-for-164) with two homers and 20 RBIs in 74 games for the Arizona Diamondbacks (2022-23), Detroit Tigers (2024), Philadelphia Phillies (2024-25), Toronto Blue Jays (2025), Los Angeles Dodgers (2025) and Giants.
Arizona selected Kennedy in the fifth round of the 2017 MLB Draft.
