Mavericks extend win streak to 4 in back-and-forth affair vs. Warriors

Mandatory Credit: Kevin Jairaj-Imagn Images Naji Marshall posted 30 points and nine assists as the Dallas Mavericks extended their winning streak to four with a 123-115 victory over the visiting Golden State Warriors on Thursday.
Cooper Flagg paired 21 points with 11 rebounds, Max Christie added 21 -- including 5-of-12 shooting from deep -- and Brandon Williams had 19 off the bench.
Stephen Curry scored 38 points, shooting 8-of-15 from 3-point range, while De'Anthony Melton contributed 22 for the Warriors, who lost Jonathan Kuminga with 3:52 remaining in the second quarter with left knee soreness when he landed awkwardly on a dunk attempt.
Curry hit three 3s in the opening period to put Golden State ahead 27-24.
The margin grew to 45-39 in the second before Christie piloted a 12-0 run to give the Mavericks the lead, which they held 55-50 at halftime.
Flagg had 11 points and nine rebounds at the half, while the Warriors struggled offensively in the second frame, making 7 of 22 shots, including 2 of 12 from deep, and committing six turnovers which cost them 10 points.
Golden State scored the first eight points of the third period to recapture the lead, which Dallas pinched back again when Williams inspired a 12-3 rush.
The momentum swung again as the Warriors then finished the quarter with a 12-2 spree, Curry knocking down his sixth trey and Melton scoring six points, to lead 89-84 after three.
Golden State hit 16 of 24 shots for the quarter and coughed up just one turnover.
The Warriors moved ahead 96-89 in the fourth before Dallas scored 10 unanswered points to take the lead for good.
After Curry's seventh three closed the Mavericks' lead to one, Draymond Green was called for a flagrant foul for an elbow to Dwight Powell's midriff.
The incident sparked another 11-0 Mavs spree, for an overall 24-5 surge, to stretch the home side's advantage to 113-101.
