New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor (12) wears number 21 and a patch in honor of Pittsburgh Pirates legend and humanitarian Roberto Clemente during the game against the Baltimore Orioles at Citi Field. New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor was named the 2026 Roberto Clemente Award winner on Monday.
The five-time All-Star was recognized for his charitable endeavors, community contributions and youth leadership.
Lindor, 32, will be presented with the award Monday night before Game 3 of the World Series in St. Petersburg, Fla.
The prestigious honor includes a $100,000 donation from Capital One to Lindor's SEEN Foundation, whose mission is to empower youth, create opportunities and foster positive community impact.
Lindor is the fifth recipient of Puerto Rican descent to receive the award named after the late Puerto Rican legend.
