NBA fines Suns G Jalen Green $25,000 for profanity on live TV
Suns guard Jalen Green (4) celebrates a three pointer against the Clippers with guard Collin Gillespie (12) during a game at the Mortgage Matchup Center on Nov. 6, 2025. The NBA fined Phoenix Suns guard Jalen Green $25,000 on Tuesday for using profanity when he interrupted a live television interview with words of support for teammate Collin Gillespie.
Green's comments came after a 115-101 win over the host Washington Wizards on Monday for the Suns' fourth consecutive victory.
"They can't even f--- with you," Green exclaimed to Gillespie during the broadcast.
Gillespie has been the catalyst behind the Suns' last three wins, averaging 19.3 points, 7.3 assists and 1.7 steals. The point guard had 25 points, six assists, four rebounds, two steals no fouls and two turnovers in 29 minutes against Washington.
Green, 23, is sidelined by a right hamstring strain initially injured in training camp and has played just two games in his first season with Phoenix, averaging 15.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 15.0 minutes in the two starts. He re-aggravated the injury in his second game back on Nov. 8.
The Houston Rockets selected Green with the second overall pick of the 2021 NBA Draft. He was fourth in the Rookie of the Year voting.
The Rockets dealt him to Suns on July 6 as part of a seven-team trade that sent star Kevin Durant from Phoenix to Houston.
Gillespie, 26, is averaging 13.9 points, 4.0 rebounds, 5.1 assists, 1.4 steals and 28.3 minutes in 32 games (13 starts) this season.
