Of Course Daniel Sturridge Hurt Himself Scoring
Photo: Alex Livesey/ [object Object] Daniel Sturridge is generally very good when he’s healthy, but unfortunately, he’s almost never healthy. The annual Sturridge injury came again Tuesday during a friendly, right when the English striker should have been celebrating.
Liverpool fans’ hopes that Sturridge could maybe start the season at 100% were suddenly dashed, as a breakaway chipped goal to put the cherry on top of a win against Bayern immediately turned tragic. Sturridge turned away from goal appearing to grab his thigh, and he was substituted off soon after.
There’s no word yet from the club on how bad the injury is, but some can take heart hearing that the tone from Sturridge and manager Jürgen Klopp is generally optimistic.
It’s a bad night all around to try and enjoy something cool.
