Edmonton rallied from a 2-0 deficit, capping the comeback with three third-period goals.
McLeod, who also had an assist, scooped up a loose puck behind the net and then fired a spinning wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle past a Connor McDavid screen and into the top far corner for the game-winner.
Evan Bouchard scored an empty-net goal to seal it and also had an assist and Leon Draisaitl and Derek Ryan also scored for Edmonton, which hasn't lost a game since Dec. 19 against the New York Islanders. Stuart Skinner made 25 saves to extend his personal winning streak to a career-best eight games.
Auston Matthews had a goal and an assist, Morgan Reilly also scored and Pontus Holmberg added two assists for Toronto, which lost its fourth straight game (0-3-1) and had a six-game road point streak snapped. Martin Jones finished with 28 saves.
Toronto needed just 27 seconds to take a 1-0 lead. Mitchell Marner lasered a crossing pass from near the right boards to Matthews alone at the bottom of the left circle. Matthews then roofed a wrist shot into a wide-open left side of the net for his league-leading 34th goal of the season.
The Maple Leafs extended their lead to 2-0 midway through the second period. Rielly took a pass from Matthews at the left side of the net and fired a wrist shot into the top far corner for his seventh goal.
It looked as if Edmonton cut it to 2-1 just 12 seconds later when Hyman cut across the front of the net and scored. However, the goal was disallowed when Toronto successfully challenged that the play was offside.
Draisaitl then made it 2-1 at the 15:41 mark of the second. His sharp-angle backhand shot from the bottom of the right circle bounced past defenseman Jake McCabe and Jones for his 21st goal and seventh in the past nine games.
Edmonton tied it 2-2 at the 2:27 mark of the third period. McLeod circled around behind the net and then passed to Ryan in the low slot. Ryan then one-timed a shot past Jones' blocker side.
