Mandatory Credit: Rick Osentoski-Imagn Images Florida Panthers forward Anton Lundell likely will sit out the remainder of the season as he nurses a rib injury.
Lundell is expected to be sidelined from two to six weeks for the Panthers (35-32,3, 73 points), who reside 12 points out of the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference with 12 games remaining on their schedule.
"That MRI wasn't very good, so he's not on the near-term," Florida head coach Paul Maurice said Wednesday. "... I wouldn't play him in the regular season or if we were fighting for (a playoff spot)."
Lundell, 24, has totaled 44 points (18 goals, 26 assists) and a minus-8 rating in 64 games this season.
A two-time Stanley Cup champion, Lundell has recorded 201 points (78 goals, 123 assists) and a plus-62 rating through 359 career games. He was selected by Florida with the 12th overall pick of the 2020 NHL Draft.
