Phillies place RHP Luis Ortiz (ankle) on IL, recall RHP Nick Nelson

Ortiz sustained the injury during Philadelphia's 12-4 setback to the Atlanta Braves on Saturday. He allowed two runs on three hits in two-thirds of an inning before exiting the contest.
Ortiz, 28, owns a 0-2 record with a 4.76 ERA in 24 career appearances (two starts) with the Baltimore Orioles, San Francisco Giants and Phillies. He was selected by the Rangers with the 30th overall pick of the 2014 MLB Draft.
Nelson, 28, had not appeared in a game this season for the IronPigs. He posted a 2-0 record with a 6.23 ERA in five games (one start) in major league spring training. He is 5-4 with a 5.20 ERA and one save in 70 career appearances (four starts) with the New York Yankees and Phillies from 2020-23.
