Predators' Steven Stamkos fined for unsportsmanlike conduct

Mandatory Credit: Ron Chenoy-Imagn Images Nashville Predators forward Steven Stamkos was fined $2,500 for unsportsmanlike conduct by the NHL on Sunday following an incident in Saturday's matchup with the Vegas Golden Knights.
Golden Knights defenseman Jeremy Lauzon hit Nashville forward Jonathan Marchessault into the Predators' bench during the second period of the game in Las Vegas. Stamkos, who was seated on the bench, jabbed his stick into the face of Lauzon while he was engaged with Marchessault.
Stamkos, 35, was not penalized on the play.
The Golden Knights led 2-1 through two periods and went on to post a 7-2 victory.
Playing in the second season of a four-year, $32 million contract, Stamkos has totaled 33 points (21 goals, 12 assists) in 48 games this season.
