Mandatory Credit: Jayne Kamin-Oncea-Imagn Images The NFC West-leading Los Angeles Rams activated wide receiver Tutu Atwell from injured reserve in advance of Sunday's home game against the Detroit Lions.
Atwell, 26, has not played in a game since Week 6 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at London because of a hamstring injury. Los Angeles opened Atwell's 21-day practice window on Nov. 19, but a roster crunch delayed his return.
The Rams made the move Saturday after opening a spot on their 53-man roster when linebacker Nick Hampton was waived and later re-signed to the practice squad.
In six games, Atwell has four receptions for 164 yards, including an 88-yard catch and run for a touchdown against the Indianapolis Colts with 1:33 remaining in Week 4 that gave Los Angeles a 27-20 victory.
Atwell has 103 receptions for 1,507 yards and five touchdowns in 60 games (27 starts) over five seasons with the Rams.
The Rams also promoted safety Tanner Ingle from the practice squad as safety Jaylen McCollough remains questionable with an illness.
