Rangers sign lefty reliever Jalen Beeks to 1-year deal

The Rangers designated right-hander Alexis Diaz for assignment to make room on their 40-man roster.
Beeks, 32, made a team-high 61 appearances (two starts) for the Arizona Diamondbacks last season and finished 5-3 with one save, a 3.77 ERA and 47 strikeouts in 57 1/3 innings.
Beeks is 28-18 with 16 saves and a 4.31 ERA in 263 career games (21 starts) with the Boston Red Sox (2018), Tampa Bay Rays (2018-20, 2022-23), Colorado Rockies (2024), Pittsburgh Pirates (2024) and Diamondbacks.
Diaz, 29, surrendered eight earned runs in 1 2/3 innings in three relief appearances in spring training. He signed a one-year deal with Texas in December.
