The 26-year-old Serbian made his MLS debut in 2023 and started 13 matches for the Rapids, posting two clean sheets and giving up 28 goals.
"Marko is a talented goalkeeper with a strong reputation particularly back in Europe," Rapids sporting director Fran Taylor said. "This move will provide him with the opportunity and game time he needs to regain his sharpness and return to the type of form that saw him break into the Serbian national team."
Before joining Colorado, Ilic played for clubs in Belgium and Serbia from 2015-23.
Zack Steffen opened the 2024 season as the starting goalkeeper for the Rapids.
