Ravens rookie CB Nate Wiggins out Sunday after car accident
Former Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins performs a defensive position drill during 2024 Clemson Pro Day in the Poe Indoor Facility at Clemson University in Clemson Tuesday, March 14, 2024. Baltimore Ravens rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins will miss Sunday's home opener against the Las Vegas Raiders after being involved in a car accident, coach John Harbaugh said Friday.
Wiggins, selected in the first round (30th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Clemson, missed practice on Thursday because of a neck issue.
"Nate was in a car accident a couple of days ago," Harbaugh said. "They're kind of working through it. Looks like he's not going to be able make it to the game. He'll be out for this game. He's fine. He's healthy. He's just not gonna be able to play."
Wiggins, who turned 21 on Aug. 28, made two tackles in Baltimore's season-opening road loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sept. 5. He played 17 defensive snaps, according Pro Football Focus.
"Nate's going to be fine," Ravens defensive coordinator Zach Orr said Thursday. "Nate's going to play a lot of football for us. He's going to play a lot of great football for us.
"... He played well in the (Chiefs) game as well. The better he plays, the more he's going to be out there."
