Rays activating SS Taylor Walls for home opener

Mandatory Credit: Nathan Ray Seebeck-Imagn Images The Tampa Bay Rays activated shortstop Taylor Walls from the 10-day injured list ahead of their home opener on Monday against the Chicago Cubs, according to MLB.TV.
Fellow shortstop and top prospect Carson Williams was optioned to Triple-A Durham in a corresponding move.
Walls, 29, landed on the IL on March 19 with a right oblique strain that he sustained in the batting cage.
The light-hitting Walls is a stellar defender. He batted .220 with four homers, 38 RBIs and 14 steals in 101 games last season, his fifth campaign with the Rays.
Williams, 22, is batting .130 (3-for-23) with no homers, three RBIs and nine strikeouts in seven games this season.
