Red Bulls sign M Wiki Carmona to new contract

Mandatory Credit: Katie Stratman-USA TODAY Sports The New York Red Bulls signed midfielder Wiki Carmona to a new contract, the MLS club announced Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Venezuela international is now locked up through the 2027 season with an option for 2028.
"Wiki has shown a great development over his last three years with the club," NYRB head of sport Jochen Schneider said. "We are very excited to keep Wiki with the club for the long term and to continue to see him grow and succeed on the pitch."
Carmona has three goals and three assists (both career highs) through 23 matches (18 starts) this season.
He has recorded five goals and four assists in 67 matches (39 starts) since his 2021 MLS debut with the Red Bulls.
"I am very happy to sign Wiki to a new contract with the club and to keep him with us for the future," head coach Sandro Schwarz said. "He has shown to be a reliable player for our club this season and has progressed really well since the beginning of the season."
