Mandatory Credit: Eakin Howard-Imagn Images Right-handed pitcher Hunter Dobbins has been placed on the 15-day injured list with an elbow strain, the Boston Red Sox announced Sunday.
The former eighth-round pick out of Texas Tech in 2021 has made his MLB debut this season for Boston, posting a 4.10 ERA with a 4-1 record in 12 appearances (10 starts).
His most recent outing, a four-inning start against the San Francisco Giants on June 20, was one of his worst, as the 25-year-old lasted just four innings while surrendering five runs (four earned) and walking five.
In a corresponding move, the Red Sox called up right-hander Richard Fitts from Triple-A Worcester.
Fitts, 25, has previously appeared in five games, all starts, for the Red Sox this season. He is 0-3 with a 4.71 ERA over 21 innings.
Fitts' career ERA is 3.24. He is still seeking his first career win.
