Mandatory Credit: Kiyoshi Mio-Imagn Images Atletico Madrid superstar Antoine Griezmann has placed his potential transfer to MLS side Orlando City on hold this season, ESPN reported Wednesday.
The change reportedly comes in the aftermath of Atletico Madrid advancing to the Copa del Rey final on April 18 after beating FC Barcelona 4-3 on aggregate in the semifinals.
Per ESPN, Orlando's offer, which was reported last month, was conditional on being executed during the MLS spring transfer window, which ends March 26.
Griezmann is Atletico's all-time leading goal scorer with 210 tallies across all competitions but has never won a major trophy with the club, for whom he has played 10 seasons across two stints (2014-19 and 2021-26).
The 34-year-old forward/attacking midfielder won the 2018 World Cup with France and was the Player of the Tournament at the 2016 European Championship, tallying four goals as France fell in the final.
Griezmann has tallied 297 goals across 787 career domestic appearances in La Liga and had 44 goals in 137 caps for France before retiring from international competition in 2024.
