Mandatory Credit: Charles LeClaire-Imagn Images Milwaukee Brewers right-hander Jacob Misiorowski is scheduled to have a throwing session Tuesday as he attempts to bounce back from a bout of arm fatigue, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported.
Misiorowski was named to the National League All-Star team for the second time but was ruled out of the showcase game on Tuesday at Philadelphia. Further concerns were raised when he was scratched from a start on Sunday opposite the Pittsburgh Pirates' Paul Skenes.
The report indicates that Misiorowski will not pitch in the upcoming weekend home series against the Miami Marlins. Milwaukee next faces the New York Mets in a series that starts next Monday.
Misiorowski is in contention for the National League Cy Young Award by going 10-4 with a 1.62 ERA in 18 starts to open the season. It is already more than the 15 appearances (14 starts) he made for the Brewers last season when he burst on the scene with a 100-plus mph fastball.
The flame thrower has logged 111 innings, which is fast approaching his 129 1/3 combined innings he had in the minor and major leagues last season.
"Fatigue would be the best word," Misiorowski told reporters over the weekend when it was announced he would not start. "Nothing crazy. Just didn't bounce back. A little quick on the days off between but nothing crazy."
