Veldheer, 36, worked out with the Colts on Friday. The signing is insurance against the injury sustained by right tackle Braden Smith, who missed Sunday's game.
Veldheer played one game with Indianapolis — the season finale — during his final season in 2020 and also started in their postseason game.
He played in 121 games (114 starts) from 2012-20 with five teams, including the then-Oakland Raiders (2010-13), who selected him in the third round of the 2010 draft.
