Mandatory Credit: Stephen Lew-Imagn Images Point guard Yam Madar, a former 2020 second-round draft pick of the Boston Celtics, is expected to play at LSU next season, Eurohoops reported Monday.
The Israel native is playing professionally for Hapoel Tel Aviv but the 25-year-old will make the move to Division I and play for the Tigers on a $5 million deal, according to the report.
Madar was the No. 47 overall selection by the Celtics in 2020 in his second year of a four-year deal with Hapoel Tel Aviv but elected to remain with the Israeli Basketball Premier League team. He did see time with the Celtics' summer league team in 2021.
Madar has since played for Partizan in Serbia, Fenerbahce in Turkey and Bayern Munich in Germany before returning to Hapoel Tel Aviv. He also plays for the Israel national team.
