Mandatory Credit: Vincent Carchietta-Imagn Images After trading one standout defensive lineman over the weekend, the New York Giants are now unlikely to move defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, according to a report from NFL Network.
Thibodeaux, 25, is entering the fifth and final season of his rookie deal after he was selected fifth overall by the Giants in the 2022 NFL Draft.
The Giants, under new head coach John Harbaugh, traded defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence to Cincinnati on Saturday in exchange for the 10th overall pick in this year's draft.
Per the report, New York has fielded calls on Thibodeaux's availability for months but the Lawrence move makes another move less likely.
"No one is ruling anything out. But unlikely," NFL Network said in its report.
Thibodeaux has 23.5 sacks and 55 quarterback hits over four seasons and 53 starts. He had a career-low 2.5 sacks in a career-low 10 games last season, missing seven games with a shoulder injury.
If he stays with New York on this current deal, Thibodeaux is set to make $14.75 million on his fifth-year option in 2026.
