Mandatory Credit: Darren Yamashita-Imagn Images The Charlotte Hornets will retire former NBA Sixth Man of the Year Dell Curry's No. 30 jersey on March 19, ESPN reported Wednesday.
Curry, the father of Golden State Warriors guards Stephen and Seth Curry, will be honored during a game against the Orlando Magic.
Curry played 10 of his 16 NBA seasons in Charlotte (1988-98) and is currently in his 17th season as the team's TV analyst. He ranks first in franchise history in games (701), second in points (9,839) and fourth in steals (747).
Curry, 61, will join the late Bobby Phills (No. 13) as the only players to have their jerseys retired by the Hornets.
A first-round pick by Utah (15th overall) in 1986, Curry averaged 11.7 points and shot 40.2% from 3-point range over 1,083 career games with the Jazz, Cleveland Cavaliers, Hornets, Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors. He was voted the league's top sixth man in 1993-94.
