Mandatory Credit: Erik Williams-Imagn Images Murray State plans to hire Creighton assistant Ryan Miller as the school's new head coach, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
Miller, 49, is in his fourth season with the Bluejays. He also has served as an assistant coach with Pepperdine (2006-07), New Mexico (2007-12), Auburn (2012-14), UNLV (2014-16) and TCU (2016-21).
Miller would replace Steve Prohm, who announced Saturday that he was stepping down as the Racers' head coach.
Prohm, 50, was in his second stint with the Racers, taking over the Missouri Valley Conference program before the 2022-23 season. In that span, Murray State was 45-52, including a 16-17 record this season after a 70-62 setback to Bradley in the quarterfinal of the conference tournament on Friday.
The Racers had a 104-29 record during Prohm's first tenure as their head coach. That run from 2011-15 saw the team capture the Ohio Valley Conference regular-season title in all four seasons and reach the NCAA Tournament in 2012.
