Report: OWGR could make LIV Golf decision this week

The OWGR board is meeting on Wednesday and a vote on the LIV Golf situation could be added to the agenda, with a potential decision by the end of the week, according to Golfweek.
Under the current system, LIV Golf members struggle to get into the fields for major championships without OWGR points. For example, two of the circuit's top players, Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm, currently rank No. 31 and No. 93, respectively.
The Saudi-backed LIV Golf league begins its fifth season next week in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
LIV Golf is expanding from 54-hole to 72-hole tournaments this year, part of the league's efforts to make itself more viable for world ranking points. Those efforts also include expanding its fields and creating more pathways into the league.
The major strike against LIV Golf's OWGR inclusion has been the way that its rosters are formed, as hardly any of the golfers played their way into the league (as they do on the PGA Tour) but rather signed contracts and joined hand-picked teams.
"That's one of the beauties of our sport is earning your way onto a tour, fighting to keep your job on that tour," OWGR chairman Trevor Immelman said last month.
