Report: Pass rusher Myles Garrett 'will remain a Brown'
Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (95) celebrates after sacking Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (9) during the second half of an NFL football game at Huntington Bank Field, Sept. 7, 2025, in Cleveland, Ohio. An NFL insider shot down trade rumors surrounding Cleveland Browns pass rusher Myles Garrett on Saturday.
"Cleveland star Myles Garrett is not getting traded," The Athletic's Dianna Russini posted on X. "Teams have checked in, but as one high-ranking source texted: 'He's a Brown and will remain a Brown.'"
Garrett, 29, reportedly has drawn interest this week from the Philadelphia Eagles as the Browns (2-6) are stuck in last place in the AFC North.
Garrett, a four-time All-Pro and the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year, certainly would command a high price on the trade market, in the range of multiple first-round draft picks.
The defensive end demonstrated his value again last weekend with a career-high five sacks in a loss at New England. He leads the NFL with 10 sacks through eight games, his eighth straight season with double-digit sacks.
Any team trading for Garrett also would be taking on the four-year, $160 million contract extension he signed with the Browns in March.
