Report: Richie Incognito Knocked Out A Bouncer (Update)
Just days after nearly having his face rearranged by Antonio Smith—probably because of something he did, because Richie Incognito is almost universally considered the dirtiest player in the game—news emerges that Incognito got himself into a little nightclub fight before training camp.
(Update: We've got the police report, containing statements from Incognito and the security guard, former University of Miami and NFL lineman Carlos Joseph.)
Adam Schefter, muscling in on our beat, reports that Incognito got into a late-night scrap with a security guard at the nightclub at the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami—date uncertain, but before the Dolphins reported to camp in July. According to Schefter, NFL sources say Incognito "punched and knocked out" the bouncer. A source close to Incognito claims the bouncer threw the first punch.
Video supposedly exists! Too bad we'll probably never see it.
There is videotape of the incident but the hotel is unwilling to turn it over and the NFL has not yet seen it — and might not due to fact that it is the hotel's property and the Fountainbleu prefers that attention not be brought to the issue.
The Dolphins have been aware of the incident because, as one source said, "they've done everything to bury it."
Know anything about the fight? Drop us a line.
Update: Pro Football Talk has a copy of the police report. Incognito told police he was trying to break up a fight when he was hit by the security guard.
