Mandatory Credit: Cary Edmondson-Imagn Images After missing the past 27 games with a persistent knee injury, Golden State Warriors star guard Stephen Curry is set to return Sunday against the Houston Rockets, ESPN reported Friday.
Curry, 38, has been dealing with patellofemoral pain syndrome, better known as "runner's knee," in his right leg. There was also bone bruising associated with the injury.
Curry last played Jan. 30 against the Detroit Pistons when he scored 23 points in a 131-124 loss. Since the two-time NBA MVP has been out, the Warriors (36-41) have gone 9-18, although they have clinched a spot in the play-in tournament.
The Warriors have five games remaining in the regular season.
Curry has averaged 27.2 points with 4.8 assists in 39 games this season. In 17 career seasons, all with Golden State, he has averaged 24.8 points with 6.3 assists and 4.7 rebounds in 1,065 games (1,059 starts).
The 12-time All-Star, four-time NBA champion and 2022 NBA Finals MVP has made the most 3-pointers in NBA history at 4,233.
