Sylvanie-Imagn Images St. Louis Blues defenseman Colton Parayko exercised his no-trade clause to shut down a move to the Buffalo Sabres, multiple outlets reported Thursday.
The deal reported Wednesday would have sent the 32-year-old Parayko to Buffalo in exchange for 18-year-old blueliner Radim Mrtka and a first-round draft pick.
Parayko, who has played his entire 11-year career with the Blues, is in the fourth season of an eight-year, $52 million deal that includes a no-trade clause. He is signed through 2029-30 at an annual cap hit of $6.5 million.
The 6-foot-6 Parayko has one goal and 14 points over 58 games in 22:24 of average ice time. He ranks third in the league with 141 blocked shots.
A 2012 third-round draft pick and 2019 Stanley Cup champion, Parayko has tallied 309 career points (78 goals, 231 assists) in 781 games.
Mrtka was the No. 9 overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft by Buffalo.
The NHL trade deadline is Friday at 3 p.m. ET.
